Instructions

Measure and mark where you want to cut your bottle. Using a dry erase marker works wonderfully as you can rub it off when you’re done.

Cut a thin strip for the handle. You can make it any width you want. Pretty little custom DIY Easter baskets you can make in minutes using a plastic soda bottle of any size! Use for Easter or as a gift basket for any time!

If you’re doing scallops on the edge you can mark those ahead of time and then cut.Pretty little custom DIY Easter baskets you can make in minutes using a plastic soda bottle of any size! I chose Sharpie Paint Markers for one of my baskets, making dots around the edge.Pretty little custom DIY Easter baskets you can make in minutes using a plastic soda bottle of any size! Glue your handles in place with hot glue. A clothespin is helpful to hold them in place until they dry. Pretty little custom DIY Easter baskets you can make in minutes using a plastic soda bottle of any size! Use for Easter or as a gift basket for any time!blank630x20

For my second basket I lined the edges with ribbon and added buttons where the handle attaches to the base. Pretty little custom DIY Easter baskets you can make in minutes using a plastic soda bottle of any size! Use for Easter or as a gift basket for any time!blank630x20

The sky is the limit on how you can decorate these. I added some appliques I had on hand and also a butterfly to one of my baskets and tied a name tag onto the other with raffia. I did. That took some patience! I actually tried to do a woven one with ribbon but just couldn’t get the hang of it. So I settled for just cutting them. You always have the cutest things on your site.
